Grocery Bill

This month we are experimenting with our grocery budget. We typically have been spending around $200-$250 a month on groceries...plus we eat out a couple of times a month.

After reading several very inspiring blogs about saving on groceries, we have decided to cut back. I am already a proud Publix shopper, and check every week for the buy one get one free offers and deals. But this month we are not only trying to squeeze the most out of our dollars, but we have realized how much food we have packed away in the freezer and pantry.

SO, we have commenced “Project: Clean out the Kitchen” and as my mom used to say “I’m not buying groceries until y’all eat the food we already have”.

So far, so good. I bought a few breakfast food items on Monday (total = about $20) and I will have to buy more milk, but other than that we are gonna see how long we can go without spending money.

I will be updating on our progress on “Menu Mondays” (which I missed this week...whoops!) so check back and see how we do!
