This weekend is Harrison's Birthday! And we are celebrating all weekend! In honor of that, this weeks Friday Favorite is....
My Five Favorite Things about Birthdays!
1- Cake. Now, I'm not really a huge sweets kind of person, and I don't even really do dessert very much, but when it comes to cake I am all about it. Harrison loves cheesecake and for his grooms cake my mom (who owns a bakery) made him a very special cake that was layers of cheesecake, chocolate cake and brownie all covered in chocolate ganache....YUM!! Everybody liked it so much that my mom decided to name it after Harrison (since he designed it himself), we officially call it "HA HA Cheesecake" because HA is both of our initials:-) So for his birthday I called mom and ordered one!
2- Surprises. Harrison is about the hardest person I know to surprise. He always figures things out before. So I wanted to surprise him really badly! I had to sneak around a bit, "borrow" his iPhone and call all his friends, and it kind of worked...more later.
3- Food. For our family, every get together focuses around the eating time. "Birthday Weekend" is including lots of different food events, but I'll update you on that later.
4- Good times with friends and family. Enough said.
5- Looking back and Looking forward. Birthdays are a marking of time, time to look back at where you have come from and to look forward to where you still have to go. I love taking time to think about birthdays past and what was happening in my life and then to the present for how life has changed and how I have grown.

I think birthdays give you a chance to be a kid again for a day. There's nothing better than that!
