Day 2

Accomplished Day 2!  Whoo!

So my alarm went off this morning, and although I did hit the snooze a couple of times, I still go up earlier than normal and had a wonderful time of reading and prayer this morning.

Yesterday I bought a brand new notebook for journaling prayers.  I love new notebooks...it's like a symbol of a new start, all those blank pages just waiting to be filled.

So this morning I read a little in Psalms and Proverbs, and then read in a book I just started this weekend.  It's called "Womanly Dominion" and it is *AWESOME*.  My sister-in-law, Jennifer, gave it to me for Christmas because she enjoyed reading it so much (and yes, I know it's been a while since Christmas...).  The book is about how woman have a biblical command for dominion in their own areas.  I'm only on the third chapter, but already enjoying it so much and I highly recommend it!

Day 2...YES!

Yesterday was the two-year anniversary of our first date.  Who knew on that day that we would be where we are now?  Well, ok, God did, but I sure didn't!  So amazed at what He had in store for us and all the ways he has blessed us the past two years, and looking forward to many more years together:-)

After church in the morning we babysat a little foster baby that my mom has been keeping this week.  He is only 3 weeks old and so tiny!  It was so much fun just to hold him and cuddle a baby for a little while.

Hope today is the beginning of a great week!

First Anniversary!

Wow, I can't believe a year went by so fast! But it's over and gone, and today (Monday) officially begins the second year of our marriage.

To celebrate our first anniversary we took a little vacation.  We both took Thursday and Friday off, on Thursday we enjoyed being at home together and preparing for our trip (i.e. cleaning and packing).

Friday morning we left for the beach! Pensacola to be exact, which is where Harrison was working when we first started dating.  It was fun to see some of the places that he has talked about and where he worked when we met.

We took Belle with us, which was so much fun! She loves riding in the car, but she pretty much sleeps the whole time...she's also still not sure what to think when I try to take her picture...

When we got to the hotel we were treated to an upgraded room and a welcome gift with a "Happy Anniversary" Card!

Our Suite:

Friday night we went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary.  We ate at The Fish House and it was SO good! We sat out on the deck and had a beautiful view at dinner.

Saturday we spent some quality time at the beach!!

The water was pretty cold, but it was nice to lay on the sand, read a little, talk a little and just enjoy the day.
Sunday morning before we left we drove back to the beach to get a few pictures:

Happy 1st Anniversary!!

This time last year....

At this time last year I wasn't even sure what to do with myself!

I was just DAYS away from marrying my favorite person in the whole world and couldn't wait!

We actually counted down the days all the way from the beginning of our engagement....all 104 days.

Yep, that's right.  We got engaged February 7th and our wedding was May 22nd.  But really most of the planning happened in about 10 days! The day after we got engaged, we picked a date and reserved the church and from there everything just fell into place.

OK, so I might have been thinking about wedding stuff for a little before we got engaged and I might have had a folder on my computer where I had been collecting ideas since Christmas....but that's beside the point:-)

I can't believe a year has gone by so quickly...but you know that they say, time flies when you're having fun!  We absolutely adore being married.  Harrison is truly my best friend and favorite person.

We have had some fun times this year including (and in no particular order):

Birthdays

Summer at the lake

(Yes, my mom still has us where matching shirts...)

Weekend trips to Atlanta and Memphis

Our First Christmas

Working together in our photography business

BUYING A HOUSE!

Moving

Just chilling at home and watching "The Office", "NCIS" and "American Idol"

Getting our first pet

And MUCH, MUCH more!

All in all it has been a GREAT year and we are exciting about many MANY more to come:-)

7 Months!

Today we have been married for SEVEN MONTHS!

I think I say this on every "month anniversary", but it has been the best seven months of our lives.

It's amazing how fast the time is going by, but we are so excited to be going through life together! And now we're ready to celebrate our first married Christmas and New Years.

And best of all we will be moving into our first HOUSE very soon!

We're almost to Christmas break...we are both working through Thursday and then we're off until the New Year!  So we're looking forward to a fun-filled holiday weekend with friends and family and then a week of a little relaxing and packing up our apartment.

Merry Christmas!

Big Weekend!

We had a busy and wonderful weekend!

Saturday we had our very first Infant Photography Session with some friends. We had a great time with them and their sweet son, Larkin.

We were nervous wanted to do a really good job on the shoot, so we have been practicing all week with our equipment, and a baby doll whom we affectionately call “Wilbur”. (I’m not really sure why...Harrison named him)

So Friday night we set up all of our equipment from scratch and went through the our whole plan for the session. We were pretty pleased with our baby doll pictures and hoped we would do as well with the real thing.

Saturday morning we spent a couple of hours with the Denson’s and enjoyed capturing Larkin in action....and asleep. I will be posting these pictures to our photography website soon.

Saturday was also the one year anniversary of our first date! That’s right...we’ve known each other for one year and we have already been married for two and a half months...he he he! What can I say? When you know, you know! So Harrison took me to dinner to celebrate. We went to Joe’s Italian, one of our favorite places, and then he took me to get coffee....much like our first date:-) We really enjoyed just sitting with a cup of coffee and having good conversation with each other. No distraction, no tv, no photography, no dirty dishes or laundry, just each other. I love my Harrison so much, and I can’t believe how much we have been blessed in this short (and very busy) year.

Sunday we visited a church close to home again and we really like it. It just may be our new church family. We went to a small group introduction last night too and met a lot of wonderful people. Our biggest goal in finding a new church closer to home is to be more involved in than just Sundays. So we are excited about the possibilities!

So that’s our weekend, this week we are looking forward to a normal work week, photography, and some very special friends wedding this weekend!

I realize I was a major slacker in the blogging department last week...hoping for better this week.

Happy Monday!
