Much to be Thankful For

I am SO thankful for the restful week and days off for the holiday!! I will admit, it was VERY difficult to get up this morning to go to work, but it won’t be long until Christmas:-)
We had several full days, but very much enjoyable and peaceful, which is our hope for holidays, that they won’t be hectic and full of busyness and distraction, but full of the peace of Christ and the joy of the holiday because of His saving grace!
Thursday morning we had a relaxing time, enjoying a breakfast of pumpkin bread while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Then we got ready and headed to Harrison’s grandparents’ house.
We had such a sweet time with them, just enjoying the holiday and yummy food that we didn’t even have to cook or clean up!
But the biggest news of Thursday was when my sister, Chelsea called to tell us SHE IS ENGAGED!!  Who-hoo! Another McDow wedding!!
Saturday morning was filled with (insane!) early morning shopping trips to try to get those oh-so-fabulous Black Friday Deals!  And Saturday afternoon was one of the most important football games of the year....The Alabama vs. Auburn game!
I was a little nervous at first as Alabama pulled ahead, but the Tigers made an incredible come back to win the game! Now we just can’t wait for the SEC Championship next weekend!!
Sunday we had a wonderful day at church with the celebration of the First Sunday of Advent.  We are so excited for this season to celebrate the Coming of our Savior!
That afternoon we had a blast taking my brother and sister, Jake and Emma to the Build-a-Bear store!  They had SO much fun picking out their animal and then adding the stuffing and picking out outfits and naming them.  It was a treat for us to see how happy they were and how much fun it was for them.
And to end our weekend of Holiday events we had a dinner celebration with our community group from church.  I don’t know the last time I have been so stuffed!! But it was a sweet time of fellowship.
Now, on to the week of work and praying that we will have good news about the house this week!
