The Good Portion

Alright, well this week has been back to the grind...and a lot of catching up.  I’m not sure why, but I feel like I fell behind really quickly this week on stuff around the apartment.  But now that we’re closing in on the end of the week I feel like I might catch up:-)
We’ve been working on photography this week, we have a few things on the books now which is really exciting! Just hoping that it continues to build!
I’ve also started reading a book called “The Frazzled Female”, it’s a Bible Study book that my grandmother had and I picked it up because of the title.  It’s about taking a break from the busyness of life and spending time with our Heavenly Father.  The main focus (at least in the beginning that I have read...) is about the story of Mary and Martha and how Martha was busy “serving” and “doing”, but Mary was doing the thing that mattered most: sitting at Jesus’ feet.
As a newly married family that is hard to do! Between work all day and housework and friends and family and trying to have time for each other, it is hard to stop and remember that the place I need to be is at Jesus’ feet, listening to what He has for me.
A huge challenge is in Luke 10 when Jesus says to Martha (and I think we can all substitute Martha’s name with our own)  “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."

  1. Interesting Hannah! Just a day or two ago I came across the same discussion in some one's blog. As it says, the presence is more important than the performance. Thank you for the reminder again.

Have some Coffee with Jesus sometime...
